Tower Crane Tie Fabrication Structural Steel Fabrication Machining Assembly & Trial Fitment Protective Coatings

Sutton Engineering Group recently completed the manufacture and supply of a complete tower crane tie package for the Rozelle Village mixed use development in Sydney's Inner West.

The project comprised eight adjustable tower crane ties, wall brackets, M100 threaded rod assemblies, machined bosses, locking plates and a complete set of machined 4140 grade collar and bracket pins. Fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, testing and protective coatings were all completed at our St Marys workshop.

Each assembly was test fitted prior to coating to verify alignment and fitment before receiving primer and a custom lime green finish using a Jotun Hardtop Flexi coating system.

Tower crane ties are a critical component of high rise construction, transferring loads from the crane mast back into the building structure and providing stability as the crane climbs throughout the build.

Once complete Rozelle Village will deliver 227 apartments, including 59 affordable housing dwellings, together with retail, community facilities and public open space. Sutton Engineering Group is proud to contribute to projects that support the delivery of much needed housing and essential infrastructure across Sydney.

One unexpected talking point around the workshop was the custom lime green finish... it looks remarkably similar to the iconic 1970s Holden Torana in Lina Mint.
