Sutton Engineering Group was engaged to design and manufacture a set of custom load beams rated for 250 tonne capacity across three beams.

The project included full engineering analysis, design drawings and certification to meet the increased loading requirements. Fabrication was centred around 310UC sections with end plates, with each beam manufactured through full length bevelling and welding across the 6 metre span.

Following fabrication, all beams were abrasively blasted and coated using a custom Jotun protective paint system. This included a yellow primer and two coats of Hardtop Flexi in the client’s custom Ferrari yellow finish, with stencil marking and identification applied prior to dispatch. All works were completed in house at our St Marys facility.

These systems are designed for heavy haulage applications, including the transport of large-scale equipment such as transformers, where precise load distribution and high-capacity support structures are critical to safe movement and handling.
